Sanjay Nayar, CFA

Sanjay graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1996 with a B.A. in Economics and has been a CFA holder since 2001. He began his career as an accountant at Deloitte & Touche, and worked at two banks before becoming a Vice President at ING in their distressed debt and high yield bond department. In 2001, Sanjay joined Harvest Management, a $900MM investment firm, and co-founded its distressed debt, litigation and special situations department.

Between 2007-2011, he worked at Schroders Credit Renaissance, a $250MM private debt and equity firm, as Head of Credit & Trading focused on international and domestic small and medium-size companies. During this period, Sanjay also began selectively investing in distressed companies with a litigation based thesis for several high net worth and family office clients through his sole proprietorship Bharat Capital, LLC. Sanjay was also in charge of operating a start-up specialty finance company on behalf of clients from 2013-2015.

In 2016, Sanjay began advising attorneys, liquidating trusts and other litigation stakeholders on how to optimize their legal funding transactions. He has successfully placed over $90MM in capital in the litigation funding space.
